Kimberly Mims
I’ve been a coop shareholder since 2018, lived in Hyde Park since 2002 when I arrived here for graduate school at the University of Chicago. I love this city, and want to see more Chicagoans thriving here. Coops are a great option these days as safe, affordable housing becomes an evermore urgent concern.
Patricia Hammonds

Phyllis Robinson
Retired Psychiatric Social Work Administrator at University of Illinois Hospital. Have lived at 4900 Drexel Cooperative Apt .Corp for past 40 years. Have been a devoted Board of Directors member during most of those years. Served as Board Secretary for 22 years and functioned as Board Treasurer for past 14 years. Goal: To continue working to keep 4900 a financially strong and sound organization and A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE
Daniel Scott
Hello neighbors! My name is Daniel Scott, and my fiancee Jessica and I have been living in the co-op for the past two years. Prior, I lived in a different co-op for the better part of a decade, where I served on the board. I’m a current PhD student in Social Work at the University of Chicago, but prior to that I spent 8 years as a therapist serving runaway and homeless youth in Michigan. I want to run for the board, because I’m interested in supporting and advocating for the interests of the co-op and its shareholders. Co-ops are an important way of offering both ownership and community to a wide variety of people, and I believe that effective management is essential for securing the long-term health of this community.
Biankha Talbert
I'm Biankha Talbert, my family is a 5th generation shareholder at 4900 Drexel Cooperative. I've been a board member for 2 years and on the financial committee. Moving forward I want my experience in marketing, management, and interior design, to be instrumental in the progression of the Coop. The health and well being of our residents is priority. Actively working together with my fellow board members and shareholders to ensure sustainability for generations to come is my goal.
Nelson Williams
I ran for the board because I wanted to be a part of the solution. As a shareholder I wanted to get involved and help. After all I live here.
Dorothy Winn
Hi, my name is Dorothy Winn. Everyone calls me Dottie. I moved from Andover, MA in 2017 and spent time looking for my next home from Evanston to Hyde Park. In June of 2018 I fell in love and purchased 4900 South Drexel Boulevard #2!
I am running for the Co-Op Board to insure that my new home is properly maintained and remains a place where I am proud to live.
I believe the operation of 4900 can be more transparent. We have an excellent Webpage developed by our #1 Volunteer, Emmanuelle which is under utilized. I would like to see improved communication between the Board and Co-Op owners. I am pleased that I was able to work with the board to improve our financial reporting by hiring an accountant and moving to QuickBooks.
I served as chairman of my Condo Association in Andover for many years, including during the 2006 Mothers Day Flood which displaced over 200 people and required that 60 units be restored. I was displaced for 7 months. During that time I worked with local, state and federal agencies including FEMA, the Army Corps of Engineers and our insurance carrier to restore the property.
I have over 30 year experience in public administration and the private sector and have been active in state and federal politics as well as serving on a number of nonprofit Boards.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve on the 4900 Drexel Co-Op Board and would appreciate your support.
